ALLIE JACQUES
Allie is 5 years old. She
was diagnosed with acute
lymphoblastic leukemia when she was
only 9 months old. Allie has completed
three years of chemotherapy at Shannon
Medical Center Pediatric Outpatient
Clinic and is now in remission.
RYLAN REY
Rylan was born prematurely
at 34 weeks at Shannon Medical Center
in June 2009. He initially was not breath-
ing and required resuscitation. He spent
10 days in the Shannon Medical Center
neonatal intensive care
unit and is now a
healthy 2-year-old.
KASH KELSO
Kash is 2 years
old. He was diagnosed with
a stage 4 Wilm’s tumor with
renal involvement in July
2011. Kash had surgery in Sep-
tember 2011 to remove his right
kidney and the tumor. Kash goes
to Shannon Medical Center Pediatric
Outpatient Clinic for ongoing chemotherapy.
TIFFANY ANDRADE
Tifany is 15 years
old. She was diagnosed with acute hemo-
lytic anemia and cold agglutinin disease
when she was 11. Her particular type of
anemia causes her white blood cells to
attack her red blood cells. Tere is no
cure yet. Tifany requires warmed
fuids when she receives IV fuids or
chemotherapy infusion. She is seen
at the Shannon Pediatric Outpatient
Clinic every three months by Donald
Beam, MD, a hematologist/oncologist
from Cook Children’s Hospital. Tifany
receives ongoing chemotherapy at Shan-
non Medical Center.
TINKER GRANZIN
Tinker is 11 years old. She
developed a severe kidney stone when she was
9. She required emergency surgery followed by
sound-wave destruction of the stone. Te kidney
stone was so large that it blocked the kidney,
causing a life-threatening infection. Surgery
was performed just in time at Shannon Medical
Center. Tinker is active and healthy today.
