THE JUVENILE DIABETES
Research Foundation
(JDRF) Austin Chapter and Shannon Medical Center are
hosting a “Network & Know More” event on Tursday,
Jan. 26, from 6 to 8 p.m. in the Shannon Women’s and
Children’s Conference Room at 201 E. Harris Ave.
Tis event will bring together people in the greater San
Angelo area afected by type 1 diabetes and will provide a
networking opportunity among people who understand
the physical and emotional aspects of the disease. At-
tendees will leave feeling connected to a new network
of support and knowing more and feeling hopeful about
DIABETES EVENT: ‘NETWORK & KNOW MORE’
what the future holds through JDRF-funded research.
“We are very excited about this networking opportunity
and look forward to becoming a valuable resource to the
San Angelo community for information on the develop-
ment and progress of promising research in JDRF’s quest
for a cure,” says Dave Waller, JDRF Austin board presi-
dent. “Our organization was created—and is still led—by
people with a personal connection to type 1 diabetes. Tat
gives us an unrelenting passion and commitment to fnd
better treatments, and ultimately a cure, for people living
with this disease. We look forward to what we hope will
