drive to fll a shortage of needed devices.

Donated equipment will be available to
anyone with a therapist’s recommendation.
Wheelchairs, walkers and other types
of equipment are ofen needed by people
who have recently been released from
the hospital. Tey can be hard to come
by, however, especially for low-income
patients.
Shannon Medical Center has previously
been able to obtain durable medical equip-
ment from hospice and rehabilitation
agencies and from church ministries. Te
needed items are in short supply, however,
and the agencies and churches themselves
have trouble getting them.
Te event will take place Saturday,
Oct. 15, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. in the Shan-
non Park Place parking lot on Oakes Street.
