Harris Ave. San Angelo, TX 76903 H eart disease and stroke cause 1 in 3 deaths among women each year—more than all cancers combined. But we can change that, because 80% of all cardiac events may be pre- vented with education and lifestyle changes. Go Red For Women is a national initiative aimed at uniting women and their friends in the fight against heart disease. Women are becoming better educated and learning the facts about how heart disease affects women and men differently, as well as how to take steps to address their risk for heart attack. Continued edu- cation and awareness is crucial for women to fight this deadly disease. That’s why, for the 13th year, Shan- non is sponsoring the Go Red For Women luncheon. Along with edu- cational information, the event will include patient testimonials and a fashion show featuring heart survi- vors dressed by local boutiques. The event will also include a silent auc- tion and exhibit booths. Reserved tables are $1,000, and individual tickets are $50 each and will be available through the end of January. For more information or to purchase tickets, please call 325-481-6300 . All proceeds from the luncheon help advance educational outreach and research programs of the American Heart Association.
