Pull for charity
After 14 very successful years, the Shannon Sporting Clay
Shoot has grown into the largest charity shoot in Texas, at-
tracting more than 700 shooters from around the state and
country and more than 1,500 spectators and volunteers.
“The ongoing partnership with generous sponsors and
shooters has allowed the continued growth and success of
the shoot,” says Connie Whitman, Shannon Sporting Clay
Shoot co-chairwoman.
Along with the Oncology Angel Fund, AirMed1 regional
outreach and the outpatient dialysis programs, three new
programs will benefit from the 2014 shoot:
Diabetes management outreach: This program promotes
earlier detection of diabetes, a disease that affects more
than 12,000 Tom Green County residents.
Shannon care coordination: A unique program that
involves premed student volunteers from Angelo State
University and helps high-risk patients as they transition to
their homes after a hospital stay.
6W: A new unit at Shannon Medical Center that
focuses on enhancing the care of special needs adult
patients.
The support of the Shannon Sporting Clay Shoot will
help these programs continue the legacy of exceptional
care for people throughout the Concho Valley and West
Texas.
