Did you know you can help local kids with a
simple phone call?
This year’s Children’s Miracle Network
(CMN) Telethon is Saturday, May 31,
from noon to 10:30 p.m. on KLST-TV. The
telethon provides an opportunity to thank
and recognize the many CMN donors and
sponsors. It is also a time to share our Mira-
cle Kids’ stories and talk about the many
items needed to enhance care for children
treated at Shannon. You can help us make
more miracles happen by calling and mak-
ing a pledge to CMN!
All proceeds benefit local children in
need and your Children’s Miracle Network
hospital. CMN would like to thank KLST,
Pediatric Dentistry, the San Angelo
Standard-
Times
, Miracle Kids and their families, and
numerous volunteers for their participation
and support.
We need you. To learn how you can help,

Introducing our
ANNISTIN FRANKE
Annistin,
or Anni, is 2 years old. She was
born prematurely and weighed
just over  pounds at birth.
When she was 5 weeks old,
Anni was put in the hospital
due to seizure activity. After a
spinal tap, she was diagnosed
with pneumococcal meningi-
tis. Anni has an abscess on her
brain and has suffered hearing
loss as a result of the meningitis.
She lives in Rowena with her
parents, Amber and Blake; her
twin brother, Austin; and her
older sister, Kennedy.
BRITANI RODRIGUEZ
Britani
is 1 years old. At age 11, she
was diagnosed with hereditary
angioedema (HAE). This rare
and serious condition is the
result of a missing protein and
causes swelling of the intestines,
face and airways. Britani receives
three-hour infusion treatments
twice a week to control the HAE
symptoms. She is a student at
Lake View High School and lives
with her mom, Rachel, and older
sister, Sierra.
CALEB LOEHMAN
Caleb is  months old.
At just  days old, he was diagnosed with
duodenal atresia, a condition in which
the first part of the small bowel does not
develop properly, blocking the passage
of stomach contents. After emergency
surgery to correct the blockage, Caleb is
doing well. He lives in San Angelo with
his parents, Michael and Angela, and his
older siblings, Bella and Ethan.
MATTHEW ESTRADA
Matthew is  years old. He was diagnosed with a brain
tumor in December 2012 and had a craniotomy, or brain surgery, to remove
the tumor on Christmas Eve. Part of the tumor could not be removed because
it metastasized to the spine. During the procedure, Matthew suffered a stroke.
He underwent chemotherapy treatments for a year after his procedure and
currently goes to physical, occupational and speech therapy three times a
week. He also suffered some vision loss as a side effect of the stroke. Matthew
lives in San Angelo with his parents, Daphne and Martin. He has two older
brothers and one stepbrother.
